It's literally just Pachelbel's Canon with words over it I swear to god. How can anyone be this lazy?!

I am offended as a song-writer and as someone who has to listen to music when it's playing over intercoms in stores and on the radio. Even I could do better.

But like, anyone who does any serious song writing should be able to tell you that literally the *first* serious lesson you get is that once you've created your awesome riff and come up with your big sexy hook, stop and make sure that you haven't just accidentally rewritten Pachelbel's Canon by mistake.

It's hilariously common. Even I've done it.

And I totally get it. Rewriting Canon is stupidly easy when you're working with pop music formulae. But there's really no excuse to be *this* close these days.

Look, I'm not saying that there was an incident in which I locked myself in my room for a week and a half trying to write my next #1 only to accidentally write Canon without realizing it, but I'm not saying that *didn't* happen either.

Neither song was released without major rewrites. I think the closest I ever put out was "A Message In Support Of You", actually.
